Create a touch point activation where consumers can demo the all new Bose QC20 in-ear noise canceling headphones, as well as existing Bose products in three global markets (London, Paris and Sydney) that target daily commuters. This activation targeted active lifestyle, music and media lovers who value amazing sound quality. Since most retailers do not have the capacity to offer guided demos, and do not offer consumers the ability to demo in-ear headphones, there is an inherent challenge to demo and sell in-ear headphones to consumers. As a result, while at Sandbox Marketing I was challenged by Bose to create a “Pop-Up” demo opportunity that utilized Sandbox product specialists to demo the features of the Bose QC20 in-ear noise canceling headphones and create a drive to retail for Bose and their retail partners.

The activation needed to be future proof, lightweight and easy to assemble. It also had to be scalable for different event location scenarios. 


After initial meetings and brainstorming sessions with the team over at Bose I began by rendering and mocking up multiple modular displays first in 2D and then translating them to 3D. Once those were more refined and closer to a final concept, I enlisted the services of a more experienced CAD artist to provide final display mock ups. The artist incorporated all of the original artwork and graphics that I developed in conjunction with the creative team over at Bose. Upon approval I sourced and worked hand and hand with the fabrication vendor to make 2 identical displays that not only were strong and could withstand the abuse of thousands of miles worth of travel, but were easy to set up and tear down. 3 individual sets of graphics were created in different languages dependent upon the area in which the booths were set up in. Every single aspect of this project was custom from the artwork, custom iPad demo application for the listening experience, display stands, and multi configuration set up.
